The procedure can be applied even in case that you will install the RAC Server remotely, only skip
points 1 and 2 and instead of them at the Remote Server Properties tab click on the
User account settings button in the remote installation profile.

Proceed in the following way:
  1. Start RAC Server application
  2. In menu Setting click on User Account Setting command
  3. In the dialog box click on the Add button
  4. On tab Server Access Account ( sample) :
    1. If you want use the existing system account for access (recommended):
      1. check the box Use local, global or domain user account and select an account from the system
    2. otherwise:
      1. Enter the account name
      2. Click on the Set password button
      3. In the dialog box enter the same password twice and click on the OK button
    3. In order to enhance safety we recommend to use Login with authorization key
  5. Click on the Access to Services ( sample) tab or the Next button:
    1. Check the boxes for respective services accessed by the account
    2. If the service File Transfer may be accessed:
      1. Click the Security button
      2. In the dialog box enable folders and click on the OK button
    3. If the service Command Prompt may be accessed:
      1. Click on the Security button
      2. In the dialog box enable access to run commands or tools and click on the OK button
  6. Finally click on the OK button or Finish

In order to enhance safety you may enable accounts locking by clicking on the Account Locking button.

In order to enhance safety we recommend:
  • In any case protect your computer with the Firewall gate:
    • Whether it has or not a public IP address
    • Whether it does contain or not important information
    because such an unsecured computer may become attackers' stepping stone to attack more computers
  • The RAC system has got enough of security features and using combination of these features you may exclude the risk of unauthorized misuse of your computer.
    For safe control of your remote computer we recommend:
    • Set your password using 8 characters minimally
    • Combine your password using letters and digits or possibly in capitals
    • Use Logging with authorization key
    • Use Locking Accounts or at least Message Sending to the e-mail address regarding RAC Server events
    • With the user accounts use the administrator properties for possible option of disconnecting unauthorized users
    • Use DNS or IP filter in case that you log on from static places
    • Enable the Computer Shutdown service in case that your computer is attacked by an unauthorized person or by an electronic attack etc. because in such a case the best solution is to switch the computer off and remove the cause of the breakthrough locally without any physical connection of the computer to the Internet/Intranet network
