Information about the fee for using the VPC system

  • Connecting via VPC service is subject to an annual fee for each computer connection to the VPC starting in 2023.
  • Reasons that led to the charging of VPC services over the past 5 years:
    • annual increase in operating costs for operating the system
    • annual increase in the use of transmission capacity and system performance
    • no connection was made to 30% of computers connected to the VPC.
    • 28% of computers connected to the VPC were remotely accessed within a private network.
    • A total of around 50% of computers connected to the VPC system load system resources without using them for connection purposes.
  • Consider whether it is necessary use VPC services in a private network, and rather not use a direct connection via IP or DNS address. Or run your own VPC system for free.
  • Disconnect computers that will not use VPC services in the RAC Server settings, because they could then block computers to which you require remote access.
  • Connecting via VPC is Free for 5 years from the purchase of a new license. VPC is not free with a discount for upgrading to a higher version.
  • The advance invoice is automatically sent to customers in November before the new year and during January. The fee check on the VPC system starts at the end of January of the new year.
  • The fee applies to licenses purchased 5 years ago.
